We are currently on Day 16 of being in the hospital and this is what we’ve learned and Imogen’s current status.

Imogen has undergone multiple blood draws, ultrasounds, X-rays, and many other tests evaluating her digestive system. Tests were performed primarily at the hospital in Missoula, but some samples were sent to the Mayo Clinic. All tests analyzed at this point have come back with nothing to change our current course of action. There are a couple that take more time to generate results we are still waiting to hear back on.

The medical team believes all symptoms point to this being a post viral infection, with no way to figure out what virus affected her. The treatment plan is to bring her nutrition back, and the vomiting will subside. Imogen was taken off her IV last weekend. We continue to monitor her food intake through a feeding tube during the night and maintaining a regular feeding schedule throughout the day. This is good progress from where we were a week ago where she was receiving continuous feeds from the feeding tube all day and night.

With Imogen needing to keep the feeding tube inserted when we go home, we are being trained on helping Imogen maintain a high caloric diet to get back to her healthy self. We also have been speaking with a Physical Therapist to help Imogen gain back muscle that was lost. She is not crawling or pulling herself as she used to but we are working hard each day to get back there.

These last several weeks we have experienced a multitude of emotions with several downs and ups. We will never be able to say thank you enough to all of you for your love and support and helping us through this. We are forever grateful for your love for Imogen. This girl is so strong and is showing us how to be resilient.
